Hunter Life Education – Susi Stewart

Hunter Life Education is the largest non-government provider of drug and health education to children and young people, their families and communities throughout the Hunter. We provide vital preventive drugs and alcohol education to over 30,000 children throughout the Hunter region each year onsite at schools with one of our Mobile Learning Centres or at our Education Centre in Edgeworth. We visit over 12,000 children at 52 schools in Lake Macquarie alone.
Research shows that well designed schools-based health education programs play an important role in helping children develop the skills needed to make informed decisions.

Our mobile classroom allows children to explore creative and collaborative learning in a space that is entirely different from a traditional classroom. There are no desks, pens or paper. Children are encouraged to participate and learn through engaging education experiences, which we believe bring out the best in all children.

Specially trained educators present vital health and safety messaging through tactile and multisensory activities. Each session is designed to intrigue and excite children of all ages, which captures their imagination and has a lasting impact!

Joined by Life Education’s loveable mascot Healthy Harold our educators bring to life lessons that empower children to make safer and healthier choices, now and in the future. In all our sessions we utilise video, songs, characters and role play.
